The Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek is one of the most beautiful and off-the-beaten-path treks in Nepal. Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world, located in the eastern part of Nepal bordering with India. The trek offers an opportunity to explore the remote Himalayan region of Nepal, discover the unique culture of the Limbu people, and enjoy stunning views of snow-capped peaks, beautiful landscapes, and diverse flora and fauna.
The trek starts from the village of Taplejung, after a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur. The trail passes through dense forests, beautiful rhododendron and bamboo forests, terraced fields, and high altitude pastures. The trek also involves crossing several high mountain passes, including the Sele La Pass, which offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan range.
The Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek is a challenging and strenuous trek, requiring a good level of fitness and acclimatization. The trek takes about 20-25 days to complete and involves camping in remote areas. However, the effort is rewarded with the stunning natural beauty and the opportunity to experience the unique culture and hospitality of the local people.
