Additonal Information

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR 8000ERS

Climbing an 8,000-meter peak like Lhotse demands rigorous preparation and experience. We recommend completing at least one climb of a 6,000-meter peak to gain essential high-altitude experience, assess your physical limits, refine your technical skills, and understand your acclimatization requirements.

RECOMMENDED PHYSICAL TRAINING

Start your physical training regimen 90 days before the expedition to ensure you're in peak condition:

  • Weekly hikes lasting 5 to 7 hours, carrying a minimum 15 kg backpack.
  • Daily runs of 5 to 7 kilometers.
  • Include cycling and swimming when time permits.

TRAINING WE PROVIDE AT BASE CAMP

Our highly skilled climbing instructors will provide comprehensive training at the base camp to prepare you for the challenges ahead. Training includes mastering rappelling devices, traversing, duck walking, classical/flat-footing techniques, oxygen equipment usage, ice climbing, ladder crossing, fixed lines, diagonal ascent/descent, and more. For those seeking a faster summit, we recommend consulting a hypoxia (altitude training) professional three months before the expedition.
