Day- 1
Arrived in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. You can spend the day resting or exploring the vibrant city of Kathmandu.
Day- 2
Sightseeing in Kathmandu Today
Vyou will go on a sightseeing tour of some of the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, including the Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. You will also have some time for last-minute shopping and preparation for the trek.
Day-3
Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj
You will take a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, which is located in the southern plains of Nepal. Nepalgunj is the gateway to the western region of Nepal and is a bustling city with a vibrant market.
Day- 4
Fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal and trek to Dunai (2,850m)
From Nepalgunj, you will take another domestic flight to Juphal, which is located at an altitude of 2,475 meters. From Juphal, you will start your trek to Dunai, the district headquarters of Dolpa. The trail passes through beautiful forests of pine and oak, and along the way, you will have glimpses of the Bheri River.
Day- 5
Trek to Tarakot (2,537m)
The trail from Dunai to Tarakot is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent along the river. You will pass through several traditional villages, including Thulo Bheri and Lawan, and cross a suspension bridge over the river before reaching Tarakot.
Day- 6
Trek to Laini (3,160m)
The trail from Tarakot to Laini is steep and challenging, as you will be ascending uphill for most of the day. The trail passes through several small villages, including Dhupichaur and Sahartara, before reaching Laini.
Day-7
Trek to Nawarpani (3,545m)
Today's trek is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through a beautiful forest of pine and rhododendron. You will pass through several traditional villages, including Dho and Serkam, before reaching Nawarpani
Day- 8
Trek to Dho Tarap (4,090m)
The trail from Nawarpani to Dho Tarap is steep and challenging, as you will be ascending uphill for most of the day. You will pass through several traditional villages, including Raktang and Shimen, and cross a suspension bridge over the river before reaching Dho Tarap
Day- 9
Rest day in Dho Tarap
Today is a rest day in Dho Tarap, where you can explore the local village and experience the unique culture of the Dolpo-pa people. You can visit the local monasteries and interact with the local people to learn about their lifestyle and customs.
Day-10
Trek to Numala Base Camp (4,440m)
The trail from Dho Tarap to Numala Base Camp is steep and challenging, as you will be ascending uphill for most of the day. You will pass through several traditional villages, including Tokyu and Chharka, and cross a suspension bridge over the river before reaching Numala Base Camp.
Day-11
Cross Numala Pass (5,360m) and trek to Danigar (4,800m)
Today is the most challenging day of the trek, as you will be crossing the Numala Pass, which is located at an altitude of 5,360 meters. The trail is steep and difficult, with a gradual ascent to the top of the pass. From the top of the pass, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including the Dhaulagiri range. After crossing the pass, you will descend to Danigar, where you will spend the night.
Day-12
Trek to Yak Kharka (3,680m)
Today's trek is relatively easy, with a gradual descent through a beautiful valley. You will pass through several traditional villages, including Sangda and Sangda Phedi, before reaching Yak Kharka.
Day-13
Trek to Sangda (3,620m)
The trail from Yak Kharka to Sangda is steep and challenging, as you will be ascending uphill for most of the day. The trail passes through several small villages, including Khola Kharka and Marpha, before reaching Sangda.
Day-14
Trek to Phalek (3,700m)
Today's trek is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through a beautiful forest of pine and rhododendron. You will pass through several traditional villages, including Charka and Norbulung, before reaching Phalek.
Day-15
Trek to Jomsom (2,700m)
The trail from Phalek to Jomsom is relatively easy, with a gradual descent through a beautiful valley. You will pass through several traditional villages, including Kagbeni and Ekle Bhatti, before reaching Jomsom
Day-16
Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and drive to Kathmandu
You will take a domestic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, which is located in the western part of Nepal. From Pokhara, you will take a scenic drive to Kathmandu, where you will spend the night.
Day-17
Departure from Kathmandu
Your Upper Dolpa trek comes to an end today, You will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for your onward journey.
